Scientists Finally Answered The Age Old Debate: Morning vs Night Showers


Whether you're singing along to Girls Just Want To Have Fun or thinking about how aliens invaded the Moon on July 20th, 1969 , most people have a strong preference on whether you should shower in the morning vs. at night. This has sparked dinner table conversations and heated debates throughout the years as to which one is best for your body, mind, and time management.


Personally, I'm a night shower kind of guy. It is a great way to end the day as I get to wash off all the subway stench before I head to bed, while most of my friends prefer to start the day off feeling fresh, clean, and alert with a shower. Well thanks to recent studies, it's time to find out who is right and who is wrong.


On one hand, morning showers are great for waking up and getting focused on what you need to accomplish in your upcoming day. As well, for all you morning gym-goers, it is a necessity to wash off the sweat, oil, and B.O. (trust me, your coworkers will thank you too).


But for the sane people that don't wake up at 5 AM for a workout, showering at the end of the day is a great way to rid yourself of the dirt and toxins, both mentally and physically, before you hop in bed. Plus you will find that your sheets and pillow cases don't need to be washed so frequently.


So who is right? Let's turn to the experts.

Hate to break it to you morning people, but you lose this one. Scientists have concluded that end of the day showers are better for you both mentally and physically. Giving yourself optimal time to scrub your body and fun bits at the end of the day leads to healthier skin and looser muscles, preventing injuries. Plus having some quiet 'you time' helps to shed any stress from the day, leading to a deeper and more restful sleep.


With that being said, they do agree that a quick morning shower can help wake you up, especially if you crank that nob all the way to cold.


But all in all, showers help to keep your skin clean, mind in the right place, and odors in check. So please...whether its morning or night...for your sake and the sake of the people around you...
