Top 5 War Movies of All Time

Time to count down the top five best war movies of all time. I will admit this was a hard list and I'm sure some old timers are going to give me shit for not putting some of the classics on here like Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood, but this is my list and I'm sticking to it...

Gladiator (Honorable Mention)

Ok so this move technically is not about war but there is a war scene in it...and it's a fucking great movie, so it made the list. Maximus is the killing machine that can't be stopped in this movie. Even the emperor himself will try...

5. Troy

This movie is about the greatest badass warrior of all time, as seen in our top 5 warriors post. Basically Achilles runs around single handedly taking over beaches, cities, temples and changing the course of history for all time. Incredible shots and the intro scene? C'mon, how much better does it get?

4. 300

Obviously another one of those movies that was bound to make it somewhere on the list. This is a legendary story of the 300 spartans that defended Sparta from the Persian advance. This movie is awesome because it uses comic book style filming to emphasis the badassery of the fight scenes. Check out my favorite seen below:

3. Lone Survivor

Amazing story about 4 Navy SEALs who make a tough decision and get caught in a tough situation. This one might cause the room to get a bit dusty and draw a tear to your eye...you know...if men could cry...

2. American Sniper

This movie became a great American classic and is about a modern day American legend, Chris Kyle. Also mentioned in our deadliest snipers article. This movie details the life of Chris, his journey to become a Navy SEAL, and the deadliest sniper in American history. Definitely one of my all time favorites. Also directed by Clint Eastwood, and who knows how to make a movie more Badass than Dirty Harry?

1. 13 hours

Finally number 1. Yes 13 hours is number one. This movie has it all. From the mercenary brotherhood, to the dark humor of a trained killer. Based on the true story of Benghazi, this movie will make you laugh, cry, and maybe even start doing pushups on your living room floor.
